PISCES and the Geology Department brought some excitement to College Hall at UH Hilo on May 1, delivering animated demonstrations in planetary exploration and volcanology. Students and faculty enjoyed live rover displays and explosive experiments modeling volcanic eruptions using Mentos, Coke, and even liquid nitrogen. The demonstrations highlighted planetary surface missions and how varying gas content affects eruption styles and volcanic products. They also showcased some of the exciting research and learning opportunities at the College of Natural and Health Sciences. Mahalo nui to everyone who participated!
