Here’s some exciting news for UH students interested in space exploration! The University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa has announced two new undergraduate minors that will help prepare students for space-related careers. Beginning in Spring 2025, the Earth and Planetary Exploration and Technology minor and Human Space Flight Technology minor will provide professional education in the growing field of human space flight and space systems science and tech. The two minors will be administered by the Hawaiʻi Institute of Geophysics and Planetology (HIGP) in the UH Mānoa School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology.

“These offerings will increase the number of UH students with qualifications to enter the space workforce with their chosen majors,” said Peter Englert, professor in HIGP and program chair for the new academic opportunities.
