Physics and Astronomy students from the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo presented their research at the Hawaiʻi Space Grant Consortium (HSGC) University Research Internship Symposium held at UH Mānoa on April 21, 2024. HSGC provides unique opportunities for students to conduct state-of-the-art research aligned with NASA’s goals and to interact with their peers conducting similar projects across the state. PISCES research director Christian Andersen is the associate director of HSGC at UH Hilo.

The UH Hilo students who presented at the symposium included Angela Claibourn, Augustus Coffey, Mekhi Woods, Edward Ward, and Atlas Syncatto. Their research was supported by mentors from UH Hilo, Gemini Observatory, and the UH Institute for Astronomy. The symposium was attended by roughly 100 people from campuses across the state. Congratulations to all the students and mentors!
