We were saddened to learn of the passing of Hawai’i Rep. Clift Tsuji yesterday (Nov. 15). Rep. Tsuji was a well-respected Big Island native who represented House District 2 including Keaukaha, parts of Hilo, Panaewa and Waiakea.
He was also a good friend and committed supporter of PISCES who paid many visits to the Hilo headquarters with interest in the organization’s research and education projects. Rep. Tsuji also attended many of PISCES’ summer intern presentations, lending his attention and support to local students and their work. His kindness and willingness to speak for what he believed in will stand out in the memories of everyone at PISCES. We wish to express our deepest condolences to Rep. Tsuji’s family, and our gratitude for his support and many years of service to this community. He will be missed.
