The Pacific International Space Center for Exploration Systems (PISCES) is featured on NASA’s new Analog Missions website.

PISCES is listed under the In-Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) section for our work with NASA on Mauna Kea. ISRU is the harnessing of local natural resources at mission destinations in space. The analog site provides an ideal terrain for testing ISRU hardware and operations since the composition is similar to that on the Moon and Mars.

NASA is associated with at least 15 analog missions throughout the world, including Antarctica, Germany, Russia, Canada, Florida, Houston and Hawaii. The new web page gives an overview of the analogs, including a description of the habitats and the types of research conducted, along with a link to each analog mission.
