NASA astronaut Scott Kelly returned to Houston, Texas on March 3rd after one year in space.

The Expedition 46 Commander along with Flight Engineers Mikhail Kornienko and Sergey Volkov of Roscosmos landed in their Soyuz TMA-18M capsule in Kazakhstan on March 1.

According to NASA, Kelly and Kornienko completed a record of one year in the International Space Station. While at ISS, they collected data on the effect of long duration weightlessness on the human body that will be used to formulate a human mission to Mars.
