On Nov. 19, 1969, Apollo 12 landed on the moon.
According to a recent story on exploredeepspace.com, Apollo 12 was crewed by astronauts Pete Conrad, Richard Gordon and Alan Bean. Apollo 12 completed a number of firsts, including the first visit of a manned spaceflight to a robotic lander, Surveyor 3. Apollo 12 also completed several science experiments and observations, which are being referenced today as mission planners around the world draft plans to return to the moon.
Apollo 12 was a monumental part of one of the most important human endeavors of all time.
