PLANETARY ROBOTICS

HELELANI PLANETARY ROVER 

We own, operate and maintain an ODG Alpha Argo planetary rover for use as a student learning tool and a mobile platform for software and hardware systems testing by space agencies. Dubbed “Helelani” (or heavenly travels), this 700-pound robot is outfitted with a suite of instruments and camera systems which can be remotely controlled via handheld radio controller or through an internet connection from anywhere in the world. Helelani’s  hardware and software systems are continually developed and refined by student interns pursuing the Robotics track of our internship program.
