NASA is offering a chance to send your name to a distant moon as part of a mission to determine whether life could exist elsewhere in the solar system! The Europa Clipper mission will travel 1.8 billion miles to explore Jupiterʻs icy moon, Europa—a world thought to contain a potentially habitable sub-surface ocean—and carry the engraved names of whoever signs up. Clipper, the largest spacecraft built by NASA for a planetary mission, will perform roughly 50 fly-bys of Europa to provide a detailed understanding of its geology and composition. Researchers hope the study will provide insight into the astrobiological potential for habitable worlds beyond Earth.
