China is likely to make it to the moon before NASA plans a trip.

That’s according to a recent story published in Forbes, saying China plans to send astronauts to the moon in the next five to ten years. This would be the first manned mission to the moon for China.

The author quotes Paul Spudis who wrote “The Value of the Moon: How to Explore, Live, and Prosper in Space Using the Moon’s Resources.” Spudis argues that he’s not opposed to others making it to the moon before NASA, but is worried that America may be resting on its laurels when it comes to building a presence on the lunar surface.
